Our mission is to support confidence, wellbeing and social connection through inclusive beauty, hair and self-care programs.
Using familiar and engaging activities, we create opportunities for women and girls with disability, and those facing barriers to employment or community participation, to learn new skills, connect with others and build confidence.
We believe everyone deserves opportunities to connect, participate and enjoy self-care.
Our Background
My Selfcare Community was founded by an industry professional with more than 16 years of experience in beauty, hair and self-care, alongside a background in vocational and community education.
Through work in education, disability support and program development, it became clear that many people, particularly those living with disability, have a strong interest in beauty, hair and self-care but limited opportunities to learn these skills in a supportive and inclusive environment.
Since then, My Selfcare Community has grown to include a small team of facilitators who bring experience across hair, beauty, education and community support. Together, we create practical, welcoming and inclusive workshops that can be adapted to the interests and support needs of different groups.
Our combined industry knowledge, training and community experience underpins our approach to building confidence, developing practical skills and creating opportunities for connection and community participation.
As a not-for-profit incorporated association, any revenue generated is reinvested into supporting our programs and creating further opportunities for participants.
