About My Selfcare

My Selfcare Community Inc. is a community organisation delivering inclusive beauty, hair and self-care workshops designed to build confidence, independence, and social participation.

Our Story

Many people learn self-care routines informally through friends, family, or online resources.

For some individuals, particularly those with disability, these opportunities may not always be accessible or supportive.

Through discussions with professionals, families and individuals with lived experience, we identified the importance of creating learning environments that are practical, supportive and inclusive. These conversations helped shape programs that reflect the real needs of participants and led to the development of our workshops.

Our focus is on creating a space where participants feel comfortable, encouraged, and supported.

Our Background

The organisation was founded by an industry professional with over 16 years of experience in the beauty, hair and self-care industry, alongside a background in vocational education since 2013.

Across roles including trainer and assessor, disability support assistant, program developer and training manager, the founder observed that many individuals, particularly those with disability have a strong interest in beauty, hair and self-care, yet very few structured learning opportunities exist that make these skills accessible.

The association operates for community benefit, with revenue reinvested to support ongoing programs and expand opportunities for participants.

  • To create welcoming spaces where people can learn everyday self-care skills and feel confident in themselves.

  • A community where people of all abilities feel valued and included.

  • To deliver practical workshops that support independence and everyday life skills.

  • We believe in inclusion, respect, practical learning and helping people feel connected to their community.
